Couple of weeks back Twitter launched “Blue Tick” feature for Direct Messages. Now it is Whatsapp’s turn to bring a feature of Twitter.
You can Mention people in Groups now ! And you see the names as saved in your contacts.
When you type @ in a Whatsapp group, you pop up will show with names of Group Members. The names are what you have stored on your Contacts list. If the number is not present in your Contacts, it will display the phone number.
It is available on both iOS and Android versions now.
The popup shows 3 or 4 names. And on pulling up it shows other names & allows you to scroll through the names.
If this continues, very soon you will see Hashtags & Mentions on WhatsApp.

But recently copying features is in Trend ! 🙂

Somehow I’ve never really like when a certain social media “copies” features of another. I think that if people were first attracted to them was because it had features that others didn’t.
